The Information Technology Service (Servicio de Informática, SdeI) works with the University's faculty, students, and staff to maximize the value of information technology to their work.
As the central IT department of the University of Cantabria, SdeI has a wide range of responsibilities, from providing the campus network (Red UNICAN) to ensuring critical day-to-day business operations and doing strategic planning for IT.
We provide several services for external faculty and students visiting the University of Cantabria:
Incoming exchange students enrolled in regular courses (like Erasmus students) get the full range of services as students.
Long term visiting faculty (paid by the University of Cantabria) also get the full range of services as faculty members.
Short term visiting faculty, staff and students (such Language Center students or visiting researchers), are not eligible for a regular UNICAN Account, but they can get other services such Wi-Fi access.
You can get basic information about our services and for preparing your visit to the University of Cantabria from this page. Although many of the IT Service staff can communicate in English please notice that we don't officially provide support in any other language but in Spanish and almost all
