Click Start> Settings> Control Panel -> Network Connections.
We marked the icon "wireless network connections."
Press the right mouse button and then select Properties
In the Properties window wireless network connection on the General tab click Internet Protocol TCP / IP and click the Properties button.
In the window " Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) Properties " you must mark the options:
Obtain an IP address automatically.
Obtain DNS server addresses automatically.
Finally click on the OK button.
Setting up the wireless network
In the Properties window of the wireless network connection icon, select the tab Wireless Networks.
Mark "Use Windows to set up my wireless network settings."
Click on the Add button at the “Preferred Netwoks section"
In the window wireless network Properties select the tab associations and fill the following fields:
In network name (SSID) write:

In Encryption and Authentication select any of the following combinations:
WPA / TKIP or WPA2/AES
(The second is safer).
In the Authentication tab, in the field of EAP type select "Protected EAP (PEAP)"
Click on the Properties button just below.
Select the method of authentication "Secure Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)."
Click the Settings button in section authentication method.
Uncheck the "Use automatic login name and password for Windows (and domain, if any)"
Connecting to the wireless network EDUROAM
Once configured, we only have to choose the wireless network we want to connect to, in our case eduroam.
The first time we connect this warning will show up:
It is normal, just press OK.
Then we must pay special attention to the way we enter the username, which is composed of our own account name (the same as the short form of the e-mail) followed by @unican.es, @gestion.unican.es o @alumnos.unican.es depending on the type of user (
Never must use the long email address.
We could not connect to eduroam.)
Example for the faculty (xxxxxxxx@unican.es):
Example for the staff (xxxxxx@gestion.unican.es):
Example for a Student (xxxxxx@alumnos.unican.es):
